Jo Ann Mermis is one of Santa Barbara’s most trusted and accomplished Realtors, with over 40 years of experience. A proud member of the prestigious Chairman’s Circle, she consistently ranks in the top 1–3% of Realtors nationwide — a testament to her commitment to clients and expertise in the California market. Her path is rooted in a rich background: a B.S. in Education from the University of Kansas, a Master’s in Psychology from the University of Santa Monica, early careers in teaching and airline sales with Delta Air Lines, and five years as Vice President and Manager at Fred Sands Realty — a blend that gives her an exceptional edge in understanding people and navigating the emotional complexities of buying or selling a home.
Beyond business, Jo Ann is deeply engaged in the Santa Barbara community: a Lotusland Docent for 20 years, Past President and Board Member of Santa Barbara Beautiful, and a contributor to the Music Academy of the West Women’s Auxiliary Board, the Crane School Board, Montecito Union School PTA (as President), and Freedom to Choose, a program teaching emotional intelligence to incarcerated individuals. She was named an Honorary Paul Harris Fellow by the Rotary Club of Santa Barbara and received the Santa Barbara Association of Realtors’ Good Neighbor Award in 2016.
Outside of real estate, Jo Ann loves traveling, reading, and her lifelong passion for psychology. She is a proud mother of two daughters and grandmother of six — a role she cherishes above all else.
